5) What type of equipment do I need to take an online course?
All you need is a multimedia enabled computer and an Internet connection. Multimedia-rich courses may require a more powerful computer to display movies and run interactive simulations. Furthermore, a broadband connection such as a T1 or cable/dsl home connection is recommended, as the multimedia portions of the site may be prohibitively slow over a dial-up connection.
6) How do I purchase an online exam?
Simply call 1.800.617.5586, tell us what you want, and you're on your way to a new career!
7) Which browser should I use?
This site has been designed using Internet Explorer 5.5 as the base browser. We strive to maintain compatibility between IE and Netscape, but with the multitude of available browsers, we can't test them all. If you stick with IE or Netscape, you will be fine. However, IE does allow more flexibility of features, allowing a more emersive experience, so if you will make your decision strictly on our recommendation, we recommend Internet Explorer.
8) How many times can I take a practice exam or review an online course?
When you purchase access to our courseware, you are paying for a block of time, such as 1 month or 1 year, regardless of how much you use it. You can take the course as many times as you want within your paid block of time.
9) Is technical support available if I experience a problem while accessing an online course?
Technical support is available during regular business hours on regular business days, EST, by calling toll-free 1.800.617.5586. During off hours, please send email to training@netwind.com.
10) Can I update my student information after I enroll?
Yes, you can edit your home address, telephone number, and other personal information by clicking the button in the top right that pops up the message saying "Configure Your Personal Settings."
11) Can corporations purchase blocks of seats and enroll employees in various classes?
Absolutely! We will gladly offer businesses a package deal for a block of seats, which you can administer yourself from our Corporate Management Console. Within the package you can select a subset of our online curriculum to which you can assign your employees. Alternately, you can purchase access to our entire collection of online curriculum. Don't forget to ask about customized curriculum, because that's our specialty!
12) If I have several hundred employees I would like to enroll in a course, do you have administration tracking capabilities that I can use to track an employee’s progress?
In short, yes. We have gone to great lengths to support the types of tracking and manageability businesses need to accurately state the return on investment for training. Not only do we offer report features for your company, but you can optionally assign divisions to your company and then leaders to your divisions, or leaders to multiple divisions, and then each of those leaders has reporting functionality available. Our goal is maximum flexibility for your company with a minimum of fuss
13) Are your courses interactive?
Yes, however, the courses are interactive to varying degrees. Some courses such as softskill training (how to be a good leader, how to deal with offensive workmates, etc.) do not make sense to be interactive. On the other hand, some courses (such as courses about server software) will be almost entirely interactive. This is how we enable you to learn the latest, greatest, and most expensive software without having the software installed on your home computer.
